Contraindications: Contraindicated in children with hypersensitivity to drug and in those with severe left ventricular dysfunction, cardiogenic shock, second-or third- degree AV block or sick sinus syndrome except in presence of functioning pacemaker, atrial flut-ter or fibrillation and accessory bypass tract syn-drome, severe heart failure (unless secondary to verapamil therapy), and severe hypotension. ln addition, LV. verapamil is contraindicated in children receiving IN. beta blockers and in those with ventricular tachycardia.
